Saturday Stirrings - Crockpot Chili with Beans

I've been making this chili recipe for years, and it's one of my family's favorite recipes. It's a fairly general midwest chili recipe. If you don't like beans they can be omitted, as Hubby and I found the last time I made it because I forgot to throw the beans in.

Crockpot Chili with Beans
1 lb ground beef or turkey
1 onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 can (28 oz) diced tomatoes, undrained
1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
2 Tbsp chili powder
1 1/2 tsp cumin
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
1 can (15 oz) chili beans, undrained OR pinto or black beans, drained and rinsed
Brown meat in a skillet until cooked through. Mix meat and all ingredients except beans in a medium crockpot and cook on LOW 6-8 hours, until onion is tender. Stir in beans and let cook another 15 minutes, or until beans are hot through.

Looks positively YUMMY on a cold winters day. We have so few of those here in Armpit, Florida. I could crank up the AC and give this a whirl! Love love love chili.

Thanks!
